About This Project

Ohana is an innovative app designed for parents and family members seeking engaging events to enjoy with their children. It offers a comprehensive suite of features, including a map to discover local events, a chat function to connect with other parents for advice and support, and a marketplace for buying and selling family-related items.

The founders of Ohana approached me to create the brand and visual identity, and I was thrilled to bring their vision to life. The project allowed me creative freedom to explore and develop a fun, vibrant identity that resonated with the app’s core audience.

My Contributions:

  • Brand Mascots: I designed six playful monster mascots to represent the app, each with its own unique personality, adding a sense of fun and relatability to the brand.
  • Colour Palette & Typography: I carefully selected a warm and inviting colour palette along with complementary fonts to ensure a cohesive and friendly visual style.
  • Brand Guidelines & Brand Book: I developed a comprehensive brand book, outlining all visual elements and their usage to maintain consistency across all platforms.
  • Custom Icons: I created over 30 bespoke icons to enhance the app’s usability and visual appeal, ensuring intuitive navigation for users.
  • Patterns: Designed a variety of engaging patterns to be used across digital and print materials, adding an extra layer of visual interest.
  • Presentation Template: To support the founders in their communications, I designed a versatile presentation template aligned with the brand’s identity.

Working with the Ohana team was an inspiring experience. Their openness to creativity and innovation gave me the freedom to experiment and craft a brand that is both playful and functional, perfectly aligning with the app’s mission to bring families together through shared experiences.
